Introduced in 2005, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage filled the void in the marques line-up for an agile and practical mid-level sportscar. Designed by famed designer Henrik Fisker, the two dour coupe with its aluminium structure proved itself very successful. Largely thanks to its powerplant, a low mounted dry sump V8 developed in house by Aston Martin; initially producing 380 horsepower and sounding like a pure muscle car. Later variants came in the shape of a convertible, special editions and a V12; as well as the option for an automatic transmission.
Racing has always been in Aston Martin’s blood, from its 1959 Le Mans victory to GT3, GT4 and GTE racing. By 2016, with the vantage line-up nearing 11 years of age and its lifespan coming to an end, it came time for Aston Martin’s racing activity to be reflected in its last hurrah of the V8 Vantage.
Inspired by the Aston Martin V8 Vantage GTE, the GT8 was born. The most powerful V8 Vantage thanks to its 440 horsepower 4.7 litre V8 and free flowing titanium exhaust. Weight savings achieved nearing 100 kilograms; due to a host of improvements such as the widebody carbon fibre bodywork, lightweight wheels and carbon fibre interior components such as the sports bucket seats and door panels. Impossible to miss is the aerodynamic improvements which are all made of visible carbon fibre; the front splitter, the rear diffuser, the side skirts and cutaway front wheel arches derived from motorsports.
Our Aston Martin GT8 was delivered new to its only keeper in June of 2017. Finished in Sea Storm with a Grey Blend Alcantara cabin, contrasted by Aurora Blue stitching. Optioned with the all-important aero pack in gloss carbon with exposed valences and a carbon roof, the 700W premium audio, black textured titanium exhaust, a manual gearbox and the lightweight seven spoke wheels to say the least.
She is under warranty until June 2020, has received a ceramic coating and her first service at Aston Martin HWM in May 2018. Currently with her delivery mileage of 80 miles and a new price of nearly £210,000, this is a great opportunity to own the last of its kind and a future investment indeed.
